Privacy
Short version: Paart runs on your machine and, by default, sends us nothing. No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no phone-home. Everything it observes about your AI tools stays in a local database on your device.
Nothing.
The free desktop app has no telemetry switched on out of the box. It does not create an account, does not need to contact Cognifinity servers to run, and does not transmit your traffic, detections, configuration, or any usage data anywhere. Everything stays in a local database on your machine:
| OS | Local data location |
|---|---|
| macOS | ~/Library/Application Support/Argus/ |
| Windows | %ProgramData%\Argus Sentinel\ |
| Linux | ~/.local/share/argus/ |
The on-disk directory names still use the previous product name ("Argus" / "Argus Sentinel"). The brand was renamed to Paart in June 2026; the directory rename and data migration is a separate scheduled task. The bundled Sentinel daemon that watches your processes talks only to the local Paart instance on your own machine. It has no internet path.
Off by default. You choose.
In Settings you can turn on anonymous usage telemetry. The first time you open the Console, Paart asks once whether to enable it; until you say yes, nothing is sent and no identifier is even created. When (and only when) it is on, the daemon POSTs one small JSON object about every 24 hours. That payload is fixed, and this is its entire contents:
| Field | Example | Why |
|---|---|---|
| install_id | b1f2… (random UUIDv4) | Recognise a returning install. Random, never derived from hardware, user, MAC, or hostname. Created only on opt-in. |
| version | 0.1.12 | Adoption by version |
| os | darwin | Platform mix |
| arch | arm64 | Platform mix |
| install_first_seen | 2026-06-01 | Cohort/retention (date of first opt-in) |
| sent_at | 2026-06-09 | Active-use counting (date only) |
What it never sends: no traffic, tool calls, tool names, detections, rule contents, file paths, prompts, hostnames, usernames, emails, or IP-level identifiers. The collection endpoint discards the source IP. Toggling telemetry off in Settings stops sending immediately.
Standard server logs.
When you download Paart from paart.ai, the web host records standard server-log information (IP address, timestamp, user-agent) the way any website does. We use this only to count downloads in aggregate and to operate and secure the site. If you choose to give us an email address (for example, to receive update notices) we use it only for that purpose, we don't sell or share it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Governed by your agreement.
If you run a paid multi-host or hosted deployment, data handling is governed by your commercial agreement and a separate data-processing agreement (DPA), not by this page.
GDPR.
Cognifinity S.à r.l. is established in Luxembourg and handles personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Because the free product collects no personal data by default, there is normally nothing of yours for us to hold. Where we do hold personal data (an email address you gave us, or opt-in telemetry you enabled), you may ask us to access, correct, or delete it.
